Can it be melanoma-mole changed after giving birth?

i just had my daughter 3 months ago and noticed the mole on my inner thigh growing slightly still less than 5 mm though.and changing color. before it was dark brown almost black. i've had this mole for quite a while now. now it is black in the middle and the edges around are light brown-reddish shape is not perfect but not super irregular. it is not raised i believe although it feels a bit dry and rough to touch. no pain or itching etc., no bleeding. can't remember doing any mechanical damage to it. noticed it about a month ago maybe 2 months but hard to say when it started changing as wasn't paying attention. dermatologist sent me for removal and biopsy. i have to wait 1 week to get it done as can u believe this they are open only on tuesdays. frankly i'm panicking. could it be melanoma??? i read that in places where skin is thinner it can spread faster than where it is thick. doctor mentioned smth that moles can change after giving birth/pregnancy. is there chance it is benign?? i couldn't really ask the doctor as i'm abroad and don't speak language very well at all.
